Little Switzerland

Award winning Afan Lodge in the heart of the Afan Forest Park and could more accurately be described as a 'Swiss Lodge' and base camp for high adrenalin sports with its mountain top location overlooking the expanses of the Afan Valley and its famous South Wales Mountain Biking trails and welsh mountain walks.

Richard Burton;

Born in the Afan Valley, Afan Lodge is the first place that Wales' most famous son, Richard Burton performed with his brother Graham Jenkins when what is currently the lodge, was the Miners Institute, you will soon be able to enjoy the Richard Burton trail.

Visited by all manner of sports people there is an abundance of wild and tarmac trails and Richard and Louise Davies enjoy the company of many professionals and enthusiast joggers and triathletes who compete in the mountains and valleys.

You can chill out too

The Afan Lodge has a homely feel with a large expansive alcove area around the fire place in the Café with reading of adventure yearns to romantic novels, you can enjoy a relaxing spell there while waiting for our chef to prepare your lunch or evening meal in the Restaurant where on a clear night you can see down to the South Wales coast.
